The decision reached at the Interuniversity Council held on Monday July 27 on authorizing the deployment at the University of Murcia and Cartagena Polytechnic of two courses with the same profile (Industrial Engineering) is a new sample the university policy that no place in our region. The background to the qualification of Architecture, the devaneos with certificates of Medicine or the fact that Murcia is the region that later has regulated the criteria for the introduction of titles tailored to the European, are good indicators of the lack of guidance to take decisions. The change in position of Director Salvador Marín progressed since the problem back in January this year still has no explanation, it seems to sense the thoughts of the British historian Thomas Macaulay in stating that “When factional fighting is intense The political interest, not all the people, but for the industry to which he belongs. ”
For studies of chemical engineering is a continuous misrepresentation of information to the extent that in the subconscious of most mortals is a notch more than the lapidary phrase “Murcia to Cartagena. This battle that is coming to an end with defeat of the local side has been closed with the brilliant argument “… the degree of Chemical Engineering of Cartagena and Murcia are different and therefore can be implanted at the two universities …” . Well, if they are different academically, why their graduates are requested for the same powers professionals? Why has not heard a single assessment by the UMU and the Council of this fact? Because it is the basis for discussion and because we want to skip all technical details of the fact that the University of Murcia has intentionally designed a curriculum with a professional profile that lacked until now, under cover of the same name that studies currently possesses. To justify its decision, the Board has requested a report from experts in this field who has analyzed the proposals of both universities. This report, although it makes partial values of both universities, comprehensive information on the UMU, omitting the information provided by the PUST concludes that the titles are different, but does not contain a single reference to whether it is reasonable for less than 50 kilometers, with the bulk of the heavy chemical company in the District of Cartagena and a theoretical application of 70 new students per course in the region, it is reasonable to maintain two titles available for the same profession. Furthermore, it is paradoxical that one of the professors that signed the report it requested the Ministry to establish the brilliant conclusion above, has watched its university, which until now provided the careers of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Engineering in Industrial Chemistry at two schools different, it will only introduce new evidence at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales. This situation also arises in other regions such as Extremadura, Andalusia and Cantabria. Against this background one can only conclude that the 2005 Law on Universities of Murcia is not serving in a reasonable way to plan the training college in Murcia. Perhaps it would be better obviously, as some already do, and that each university to decide their own map of titles, so nobody panic then that a degree in Law and Health Sciences to engage as a lawyer or doctor.

He regretted that the society is unable to continue buying that speech.
Segura explained that, seven years in management, has received $ 6.000 billion in subsidy but could not be resolved or the smallest of the problems of electricity.
Segura stated that almost has a monopoly of absolute power throughout the scenario of the country, as he controls all parts of the energy system.

Indian taxi driver you can be a poet
Monday, July 27th, 2009NTERVIEW Kiran AHLUWALIA blends Eastern MUSIC TO Sfinks The Canadian-Indian singer Kiran Ahluwalia is one of the many acts that oriental music at the Festival Sfinks to resound. All feel themselves a world citizen. “I would not just be Indian or Canadian. The whole world is my inspiration. ”
From our staff
Simon Broughton, the editor of the leading world music magazine Songlines, called Wanderlust of Kiran Ahluwalia in 2008 for best album of the year. The Canadian-Indian singer, this weekend at the Festival Sfinks to discover.
You are born in India, grew up in Canada and now lives in New York. What did you return to your roots?
“I’ve never really were used by my roots. I was nine years old when I left India four years and had studied Indian music. In Toronto my parents were an Indian music teacher with whom I made at my school and my university studies in the theory went. ”
“After my studies I returned to India ten years full time studying classical Indian music. I have the scales and improvisation techniques learned, so I can write my own compositions. About 95 percent of Indian classical music is improvised, it is an excellent base for other types of music in the mix. ”
You write your compositions on poems called ghazals.
“Ghazal songs are about passion, both mystical and worldly passion. They are love songs and songs about longing, with a great poetic content, mainly ballads. I have studied ghazals, but also happier folk songs that the beauty of life bejubelen. They are about the joy a new nose ring or flowers. These two styles are very complementary during concerts, they offset each other nicely. ”
Do you own ghazals or base you are on classical poetry?
“I only write music, ghazals as a specific format that requires years of study for yourself ghazalpoëzie can write. Never has someone both the texts and the music written. I’ve written music for some old texts, but the majority of my compositions are written on contemporary poetry of Pakistani and Indian poets in Canada and the United States to live. ”
In Belgium we Indians especially the night shops. Is that in Canada also?
“In Canada and the U.S., there is a very big Indian community here is already established. Fifty years ago she worked in night shops because they were new immigrants, but now they are greatly changed. Indian politicians have been very successful business men and women, artists and many scientists that the medical research in Canada and the U.S. forward. But of course there are people who work night shopping. ”
‘In Belgium is perhaps the first immigration wave, which starts at the bottom of the social ladder and then reprocessing. But that does not mean that people are not artistic. It may well be that in Brussels a poet behind the wheel of a taxi is. Or maybe he is an engineering degree? ”
On your new album ‘Wanderlust’ mixes you Ghazal with fado. How do you that idea?
“I have fifteen years listening to fado, the Portuguese some Ghazal. I knew that the fado guitar perfectly with my music would fit, but it was waiting for an opportunity. That was when I was on tour in Portugal. We had already rehearsed in advance and have on site in one day three fado songs. It is a song on the album which takes its inspiration from the grooves of the Touareg desert and there are influences from jazz and classical Western music should be heard. I mix a lot of influences because I have to listen to different genres. ”
We also hear qawwalizang Pakistani and Afghan rubab (a eensnarige fiddle, ed). Is it your intention to limit break?
“I try to be especially true. My music is a reflection of my personality. I am Indian born and raised in Canada, I feel at home in both the Indian and Canadian culture. This translates also in musical terms. But I am a citizen of the world, the whole world is my inspiration. I would not just be Indian or Canadian. If I love a music genre, then I process it in my music. “
Start European standards for engineering and consultancy
Monday, July 27th, 2009On September 8, 2009 BS organize a kick-off meeting for the launch of the European standardization process for Engineering Consultancy Services in all sectors of engineering and an international advisory role. The kick-off meeting is to inform interested parties that they may decide to participate in the standard committee. Purpose of the meeting is the establishment of a Dutch standard committee so that the Dutch market can influence the development of European standard and its implementation in the Netherlands.
The focus of the standardization path is to improve the level playing field by removing barriers which engineers and consultants (including themselves) face. The development of European standard describes a uniform functional project phases and a common conceptual framework. These service projects in all phases of initiative, design, engineering, execution, operation and maintenance and dismantling. Also be national differences in liability, insurances and laws made clear. The standard will not the manner or content of the engineering consultancy or self-capture. It covers all sectors including construction, civil infrastructure, process (plant), power and distribution, ICT infrastructure, gas, water & electricity, Infra of rail, road and waterways and industrial product development.
Standardization enhances the competitiveness of European societies in the world. Netherlands takes a leading role in view of the presidency and the secretariat of the European working lining building, infrastructure and industrial units. This group reports to the European standard commission engineering consultancy services.

BS in 2008 together with other European countries, ONRI EFCA and participated in a feasibility study which concluded that European and national importance and added value sufficient to make arrangements in the field of engineering consultancy services. NEN is a national information, and some parties have registered to participate in the standard committee. In the first European standard committee meeting, two working groups in which all participating countries through their national standards committees can participate to the content of the standards to be determined.
Ford will send engineers into the forest
Monday, July 27th, 2009EOI said:
Well my apologies for no one will call the luxury of a typhoid something that I think and I will continue to find and have a deliberate reason.
Just for clarity: I was not hurt, but such comments have a tendency sometimes the topic just about to go and that is sin.
That fact says something about other people, but we are here together and it would be a not too big you have to do its bit to adjust.
So the question of GM, who will respect it would be applied:
The co-visitors, but perhaps also the topic starter and the website itself.
Patronizing? barely … anything less would you decorate coarse expression.
Squatters threaten copper monument
Monday, July 27th, 2009The architect bought via a public tender for 150,000 euros heavy lived out building at the head Hinke Steeg of the town of Leiden. He would like housing for seniors and starters to make. “Money is not the principal. Beautiful things, refurbishing old buildings and houses have created,” said Bakker. “I am not a bad boy or contractor property. I am a small businessman who works very hard.” The squatters, in building a weggeefwinkel run, think differently. They Bakker has the property well below the purchase cost and possibly even money received. On the website they say Indymedia supporters by e-mail a petition to send Baker to abandon the sale “because otherwise the gates of hell will open. The tone of the petition is imminent: “When you help the community remains safe and continues to try to gain possession, please be assured that we are a long time will come. Since I’m not waiting, and you probably not. ”
According to Bakker rains since the call threatening e-mails from all over Europe. Also, there are bad calls. “They have the windows of my house ingegooid, my children are scared and they covered my staff even at home difficult. That you’re not in a democracy.”
Bakker is not impressed and says’ not to bow to force or threat. ” According to him, the squatters their chance to shoot. “The municipality has the property sold via a tender for 150,000 euros. Anyone could buy, provided they had a good plan and the lot would refurbishing. With all these supporters, the squatters themselves the best property to buy. That they have not done. ” The resistance of the squatters believes Bakker runs on their own ideals. “They are fighting against housing. I want in the building housing for seniors and starters are. This is so good.” Leiden deputy mayor Gerda van den Berg says Bakker fully behind them. “Any vandalism action directed at individuals or companies is reprehensible and unacceptable. The case must be possible for the police and to the bottom be searched.” The Middle Dutch police take the matter very seriously and investigated. None of the Foundation safe Headlines Hinke Steeg, officially in the building, was reached for comment.
Engineer of Souls
Thursday, July 23rd, 2009Brought up in the Catholic religion by religious parents, it is not intended, in his youth to the priesthood. His dream was to be an engineer and travel. Student brilliant, he moved to Paris after the ferry and entered the Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées. He leads a life of studious student, who can also have fun from time to time.
He also advises to learn Russian. In the 1980s, the French public works thought the USSR was a great market. They need engineers who speak Russian. He dreamed instead of abroad in Latin America and build giant dams. “But like many boys in my class, I was Russian. Then the mirage of the Soviet market faded and I was convinced that I did not serve in that language. I was wrong.”
At the same time, Philippe Jourdan is closer to the church, discovering the writings of Monsignor Escriva de Balaguer (1902-1975), founder of Opus Dei. “His thinking on the integration of intellectual work in the spiritual life has changed my world view.” At 20, he became a member of this Catholic institution. “I was young, it’s true. But I am not a hesitant, I always liked to go fast.”
Once he gets his degree des Ponts et Chaussées, he began his career as an engineer for technical services HLM de la Ville de Paris, then went to his military service. This is after leaving the army he renounces his life all mapped out and decided to become a priest. “I have not heard voices or seen light. Simply, a belief was gradually installed, that God expected more of me.” He studied at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. Four years later, he returned to France to be ordained a priest attached to the Prelature of Opus Dei, and becomes responsible for a student in Paris.
The second major turning point in his life took place in 1996, when receiving a telephone call from the Vatican. The Apostolic Nuncio to the Baltic States was seeking a young priest to send in Estonia, and to his right arm. “He has found people speaking Estonian, but he saw in my file that I had studied Russian.” In Estonia, 30% of the population is Russian.
Philippe Jourdan decided to attempt the adventure. Once in Tallinn, it was soon appointed vicar general and begins his new task: to strengthen the Catholic presence in this country of Protestant tradition, still very marked by fifty years of Soviet rule. He decides to learn Estonian: “This is a difficult language, it is necessary to devote to background for at least two years.”
He was appointed bishop in 2005 by John Paul II. The consecration ceremony was held in the church of St. Olaf Tallinn, as the Catholic cathedral is too small to accommodate the crowd. “Here, the various Christian churches maintain fraternal relations. This is probably the Soviet period, they have suffered together, there is a real solidarity.”
To proceed further to his faithful, Bishop Jourdan Estonian decided to become full-fledged, requesting naturalization. This application will be granted by governmental action, for “contributions to the development of religious life and to interreligious dialogue.” The last step to change his life was complete was to renounce his French citizenship. “I went to see the ambassador of France, which was very well received. She told me that in ceasing to be french, I did more for France that many French who come and go here. She, my gesture gave the image of France as a modest and open, while the Estonians often see France as an arrogant nation that wants to be right. ”
There are only 6 000 Catholics in Estonia, with a population of 1.3 million inhabitants, but the workload is heavy. “We have 13 priests, 8 churches, and the faithful scattered throughout the country. My life does not resemble that of a bishop french. Here, everyone must do a little all the tasks.”
In Tallinn, the Mons Jourdan became a genuine personality. He even befriended Lennart Meri (deceased in 2006) historical figure of the struggle for independence and first president of the Estonian Republic, after the fall of the USSR.
In the capital, everyone knows his name and the local media regularly seek his opinion. “I plot. Furthermore, I must be the face and voice of the Catholic Church in this country.” It is also to meet many official duties, which contribute to enhancing its reputation. He is also vice-chairman of the ecumenical council, a body that brings together all the Christian churches in the country.
However, he did not cut all ties with France: “When you are Dutch, on the rest.” Young man, he played rugby, as three-quarters wing and through the Internet, it follows the news of the U.S. Dax, the team of his hometown. “Recently, Radio Landes called me, so I save a message of encouragement for our team. It was broadcast just before the match, crucial for our team.” However, there was no miracle that day, Dax lost.
After Mass, Bishop focuses on the steps to exchange a few words with the faithful, including a young couple from a Protestant, who wants to convert to Catholicism. Then he rests a moment in the rectory adjoining the cathedral, home to the parish priest of Tallinn, Alfonso Di Giovanni, an Italian round and jovial.
Opposite, an old dilapidated building is being renovated. Soon the bishop, who lives in an apartment in town, will move there. There will also be rooms for the priests of the province passing through the capital. In Tallinn, the domain of the Catholic Church began to grow.
